Our Location in Port Isaac
Unusually for the centre of Port Isaac’s old fishing village, the house has parking in its own private grounds.
The entrance to The Manor House is via a typical narrow, windy Port Isaac street leading to the smart gravelled parking area lined with horse chestnut trees and bordered by flowers and shrubs on one side and the River Leat running alongside.
The Area
There are two walkable and fantastic beaches with great restaurants (Nathan Outlaw), pubs, coffee shops etc – Port Isaac less than 1 minute and Port Gaverne is a 10 minute walk.
Port Isaac is a sandy beach with rock pools, fishing trips in the Summer, local fishermen and in the Summer evenings the famous Fisherman Friends’ sing on the beach. Other excellent beaches locally include Daymar Bay and Polzeath for surfing. Surfing, ocean kayaking and coasteering lessons are all available locally.
The South West coastal path runs through the village and there are many other beautiful local footpaths for ramblers. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are 40 minutes away with Tintagel and King Arthur and his Knights a 20 minute drive. Padstow (Rick Stein’s restaurant) , Rock (with Nathan Outlaw and the Camel trail and winery are a 20 minute car drive.
Golf
There are two excellent gold courses within 10 minutes. St Enodoc in Rock and Roserrow near Polzeath
Water Skiing
Water Skiing is available from Rock where all equipment is supplied.
Getting Here
Newquay Airport is the nearest to Port Isaac where car hire is available.
Trains from London to Bodmin Parkway and it is possible to hire a car through Cornwall Cars 01637 850971 who will meet you at Bodmin Parkway with the car. Alternatively, taxis are available such as the Port Isaac shuttle service ( Marc on 07866223786).
